How the team is organised

XM South Africa Guide is produced by a small editorial team rather than by one named author. The work is split into three roles that never sit with the same person on the same page: a researcher who collects the broker's own documents and the reviewer sample; a writer who turns them into a page with one job; and a checker who re-reads every number against its source before publication and signs off the check date.

The checker can send a page back. A page that fails the check is not published with a caveat; it waits until the fact is confirmed or the claim is removed.

Why there are no bylines

The site does not publish author names or biographies. A byline on a financial guide implies personal credentials, and the team would rather be judged on something a reader can verify: whether the numbers match the linked source on the stated date, whether the quotes exist on the review platform, and whether the research cited says what the page says it says.

This is a policy of the site, not an accident of design. If it ever changes, the change will be announced on this page.

What qualifies the team to write these pages

The team's qualification is procedural, not academic: familiarity with retail trading platforms, the habit of reading a client agreement clause by clause, and a working method for sampling reviews without cherry-picking. Members have used the platforms they write about on demo and live accounts. No member is a licensed adviser, and the pages are written on that assumption: they explain mechanisms and rules, and stop before recommendations.

What the team will not do

Conflicts of interest

The team is paid from the site's partnership with FxPro; it is not paid by XM, and no member holds a position in either company. Because the site's income depends on a button that opens a FxPro account, the editorial rule is explicit: the button is labelled honestly on every page, and nothing about XM is softened to make the partner look better. Readers can judge whether that rule is kept by reading the reviewer sections, which are mostly complaints.
