Sources and verification policy (South Africa)
Which sources XM South Africa Guide accepts, in what order, and how a quote or a number is verified before it appears.

For any fact about XM, sources are used in a fixed order. First, the broker's own current pages and its client agreement, read directly and dated. Second, documents the broker publishes elsewhere, such as competition terms, with the same dating rule. Third, published reviews by traders in South Africa, used only for experience, never for terms. Fourth, academic research, used only for mechanisms. Search-engine results, forum posts and other guides are not sources for any fact; at most they tell the team where to look.
Verification before publication
A number is verified when a second person opens the recorded source on the recorded date and finds the same value. A quote is verified when it matches the review platform word for word within the trimmed extract, and the reviewer's country and the review date match the record. A research claim is verified when the sentence on the page can be traced to a specific passage of the paper. Pages keep a table of “Sources and verification dates” where a reader can repeat these checks.
Quotes: verbatim, trimmed, redacted
Reviewer quotes are never reworded or merged. They may be trimmed to the sentences that matter for the page, and trimming is shown with an ellipsis where it cuts inside a sentence. Account numbers, balances and deposit amounts are replaced with a bracketed note such as “[amount redacted]”, because a reader's identifiers do not belong on a third-party site. Reviewer names are not printed; each quote is stored with the identifier of its record so the check can be repeated.
When a source cannot be reached
Some broker pages refuse automated reading or change by region. When that happens the fact is marked as not captured, the page says what could not be confirmed, and the reader is pointed to where the figure is shown, usually inside the trading platform or the client area. The site does not fill the gap from another guide or from memory.
Dates and freshness
Every dated fact carries the day it was read, and the site's facts registry stores the next review date and the event that triggers an earlier one. Daily data blocks, such as market stories or price ranges, state the feed they come from and refresh on their own schedule; they are context, not verified facts, and are kept free of terms such as leverage or deposit figures. If a reader finds a date older than a quarter on a money fact, that is a defect worth reporting.
