XM login from South Africa: where to sign in, and why it can fail
Two separate logins, one archived-account rule and a checklist for support — written for XM clients in South Africa by an independent site.
Open an FxPro account →XM clients have two separate logins: the client area (the Members Area) on XM's website for deposits, withdrawals and documents, and MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 or the XM App for trading, which use the trading-account number, password and server from XM's email. Most rejected-password problems start with entering one set of details in the other place.
Two logins, two sets of details
XM separates the client area (the Members Area, where deposits, withdrawals and documents live) from the trading platform — MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 or the XM App. If a password is rejected, first check which of the two you are logging in to.
- Open XM's own website by typing the address yourself, not through ads or messages.
- Log in to the client area (the Members Area) with the email and password you registered with.
- For trading, open MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 or the XM App and enter the trading-account number, password and exact server name from XM's email.
- If a login fails, check whether you are entering live or demo details, and the right server, before resetting the password.
Password resets and account safety
Reset a forgotten password from the login page on XM’s own website — type the address yourself instead of following ads or messages. Nobody genuine will ask for your password; a message that does is a classic sign of phishing. If XM offers two-factor authentication in your client area, switch it on.
When an XM account stops working
XM’s client agreement (clause 79) treats an account with no trading, deposits, withdrawals or internal transfers for 90 calendar days as dormant. From then on it charges a monthly dormant fee of USD 10 — or the whole free balance if that is lower — and removes remaining bonus credits. Once the fee is applied the account is archived; an account holding less than USD 5 is archived straight after the 90 days.
Among 65 Trustpilot reviews from South Africa collected on 11 September 2026, a few describe returning to find an old account archived and opening a new one, and about one in six describes a profile blocked or restricted. This site cannot see or unlock XM accounts; only XM’s support team can.
Before you contact support: note your account number, the exact error text and time, your last deposit method and date, and have your ID and proof of address ready.
